Client's Brief

Location
Earls Colne, Essex

Following the conversion of a pool room, the brief was to create a dark unused corner area into a modern chill out space complete with a trickle water wall and fire table.

This space had the advantage of an existing retaining wall to the upper grassed area to be able to work with. As the space was at a premium a rendered block work and cedar bench arrangement wrapping around the edge of the space worked well. A set of new steps leading to the upper level was introduced for a more direct route to upper level pergola. The different use of composite decking, mosaic tiles and light grey porcelain slaps made the space appear larger.
